My Research
Since 2011, I am the Research Director of Artanim, a non-profit research institution recognized by Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency. Artanim is one of the largest motion capture centers in Switzerland, working in close collaboration with Swiss and international universities, as well as industrial partners.
Research conducted by Artanim focus on two strategic pillars. The first pillar is medical research, where motion capture combined with 3D medical imaging is used to better understand human joint structures and to improve diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. The second pillar develops virtual or augmented reality applications emphasizing real time interaction and using cutting edge motion capture.
Research Areas
Joint biomechanics
(3D modeling and motion analysis)
3D simulation and computer-assisted surgical planning
(native or prosthetic joints)
Medical imaging, orthopedics and human movement science
Sport medicine and rehabilitation
Cognitive science and neuroscience
Motion capture applications from different technologies
(optical, inertial, markerless)
