My Previous Life

The Tennis Years

Tennis was my first passion, and my first career. I grew up on tennis courts and spent much of my childhood and teenage years training, travelling and competing internationally. By my teens, I was playing on the professional circuit, while still competing in junior events.

I eventually reached No. 4 in Switzerland, competed on the WTA/ITF circuit and represented Switzerland in the Fed Cup. I also played the Junior Grand Slams, reaching the doubles semi-finals at the 1998 US Open.

A persistent shoulder injury brought that journey to an early end when I was still very young. Leaving competitive tennis was not something I had planned, but the experience profoundly shaped who I became. The discipline, independence, persistence and appetite for challenges that I developed on court have stayed with me throughout my later careers in research, entrepreneurship and immersive creation.
